Cigarette smoking has numerous harmful effects on human soul, body and socioeconomic status. However it is possible to avoid all these harmful effects. Social and individual faith on this possibility is essential. Smoking dependence is a curable morbidity. As with other diseases, success depends on firm belief.

This problem can be solved in collaboration with healthcare professionals, physicians, teachers and instructors responsible for the education and youngsters in recognition of their responsibilities with the help of written and visual media, and governmental support.

Since we believe that all difficulties can be solved with hard work and education, and with the idea of “the more we educate ourselves, and our environment about fighting against cigarette smoking, the more we’ll  become successful, we wanted to make a scientific contribution in order to “save our country from risks of smoking” and as a volunteered educational staff of Ondokuz Mayıs University, Faculty of Medicine we desired to compile a book on this subject. If we become successful, our happiness will be unsurpassed.
