YAZARLARA BİLGİ
Çocuk Cerrahisi Dergisi (ÇCD), Türkiye Çocuk Cerrahisi Derneği'nin ulusal yayın organıdır. ÇCD, Çocuk Cerrahisi ile ilgili klinik ve deneysel çalışmalar ile olgu sunumlarının yanı sıra, temel konularda editöryel yazıları, teknik katkıları, kongre-toplantı duyurularını ve okuyucu mektuplarını yayınlar. Çocuk Cerrahisi ile ilişkili pediatri konuları ve diğer cerrahi branşların çocuk yaş grubundaki çalışmalarına da yer verir.
Yılda üç kez yayınlanır. ÇCD uluslararası Tıbbi Editörler Kurulu'nca hazırlanan "Biyomedikal dergilere gönderilecek metinlerde aranan ortak koşullar"ı benimser (Br. Med J 302: 338-341, 1991).
Derginin dili Türkçe'dir, yalnız yabancı merkezlere ait yazılar İngilizce yayınlanır. Yazım dilinde TDK Türkçe sözlük ve yazım kılavuzuna uyulmalı ve olanaklı olduğunca yabancı terimlerin Türkçe karşılıkları kullanılmalıdır.
Yazar(lar) ve çalıştıkları merkez(ler)'in belirtildiği bir orijinal kopyanın yanında,
bu bilgilerin yazının hiçbir kısmında yer almadığı iki kör kopyayı ve makalenin orijinal
halini MS-Word dosyası biçeminde içeren bir disket ile birlikte; Çocuk Cerrahisi Dergisi

Editörlüğe ulaşan makaleler iki ayrı hakemin incelemesine sunulur. Editörler,
yazının anlam ve içeriğine dokunmaksızın, yapısı, dili ve ifadesinde değişiklik yapabilme hakkına sahiptir. Yazarlar yazı içeriğinin, tüm istatistiksel verilerin ve ilaç dozlarının doğruluğundan sorumludur. Metin içerisinde kısaltmalar olabildiğince az tutulmalı, standart olmayanlardan kaçınılmalı ve ilk kullanıldıkları yerde açık halleri ile tanımlanmalıdır. İstatistiksel analizlerde yöntem belirtilmeli, sık kullanılmayan yöntemler için kaynak gösterilmelidir.
Tüm çalışmaların yazı içeriği olabildiğince kısa tutulmalı, kaynaklar dışında klinik ve deneysel çalışmalar 10, olgu sunumları ve teknik katkılar 5, mektuplar 1 A4 sayfasını aşmamalıdır. Editörlüğe hitaben, yazarların tümü tarafından imzalanmış, çalışmanın başka bir dergide yayınlanmadığını onaylayan bir başvuru mektubu eklenmelidir. Yayınlanan makaleler için yazar(lar)a ayrı baskı verilmez, ilk yazara derginin orijinal bir kopyası gönderilir.
YAZI DÜZENİ
Yazılar standart A4 kağıdının bir yüzüne, 2 satır aralıklı olarak, kenarlardan 2.5 cm boşluk bırakılarak ve sayfalar kapak sayfasından başlayarak sağ alt köşede numaralandırılarak hazırlanmalıdır. Deneysel ve klinik araştırma makaleleri; Türkçe ve İngilizce özetler, Giriş, Gereç ve Yöntem, Bulgular, Tartışma ve Kaynaklar bölümlerinden oluşmalıdır. Olgu sunumlarında Gereç-Yöntem ve Bulguların yerini olgu sunumu alır. Özetlerde (olgu sunumları hariç) sırası ile Önbilgi/Amaç, Yöntem, Bulgular ve Sonuç bölümleri başlık olarak yer almalıdır. Özet uzunlukları, araştırma makalelerinde 250, olgu sunumlarında ise 100 kelimeyi aşmamalıdır.
İlk üç satır boş bırakıldıktan sonra birinci sayfa orijinal kısa başlık (küçük harf) ile başlar, ikinci satırda yazar isimleri (Adı-küçük harf, soyadı-büyük harf) ile devam eder. Kurum ve bulunduğu il bunun altındaki satırda yer alır. Bu sayfanın son kısmında da, yazışmaların yapılacağı yazarın açık adresi verilmelidir. Daha önce serbest bildiri veya poster olarak değerlendirilmiş çalışmaların, sunulduğu kongre, yeri ve tarihi de yine bu sayfada yer almalıdır. İkinci sayfada yine Türkçe orijinal başlık yer alır. Türkçe özet dört satır aralığından sonra başlar, bunun sonunda Türkçe Anahtar kelimeler yer alır. İngilizce özet, başlığın İngilizce hali ile başlamalıdır ve sonunda da İngilizce "Key words" yer almalıdır. Bunu yazının geri kalanı takip eder.
Tablolar açıklamaları ile birlikte ayrı bir sayfada, romen rakamları ile numaralandırılmalı ve yazının en sonuna eklenmelidir. Tabloda kullanılan kısaltmalar, alt kısımlarında açık halleri ile belirtilmelidir. Şekil ve grafikler benzer şekilde, aydınger kağıdı üzerine çini mürekkebi ile hazırlanmalı ve ayrı numaralandırılmalıdır.
Fotoğraflar 9x11 cm ölçülerinde, siyah beyaz olarak hazırlanmalı ve basım için kullanılacak birer orijinal örneklerinin (arka kısımlarına makale başlığı ve yazar isimleri belirtilerek) yanında, hakemlere gönderilecek ikişer adet fotokopi ile çoğaltılmış kopyaları da (yazar ve kurum bilgileri içermeyecek şekilde) eklenmelidir. Fotoğraflara ait alt yazılar da ayrı bir sayfada gönderilir. Mikroskop görüntüsü içeren fotoğrafların alt yazılarının son kısmında parantez içerisinde boyama yöntemi ve büyütme oranının kısaca belirtilmesi şarttır.
Yazı içerisinde Tablo, Şekil ve Resimler, parantez içerisinde numaraları ile birlikte belirtilmelidir. Örnek: (Tablo IV), (Resim 2), (Şekil 3).
Kaynaklar tartışmadan hemen sonra, ilk yazarın soyadına göre alfabetik düzende sıralanarak yer almalıdır. Kaynak numaraları, metin içerisinde kullanıldıkları yerde parantez içerisinde üst simge konumunda belirtilmelidir. Üçten fazla yazarı olan kaynaklarda sadece ilk üç yazarın ismi yazılır (Fairbanks JL, Shelden CA, Khoury AE, et al). Dergi isimlerinin kısaltmaları en son Index Medicus'a uygun olmalı, bu indekste yer almayan dergilerin isimleri kısaltılmadan yazılmalıdır.

INFORMATION FOR AUTHORS
The Turkish Journal of Pediatric Surgery is the journal of Turkish Association of Pediatric Surgeons (TAPS). Manuscripts must be submitted in triplicate as follows:1 original (bearing the names of all the authors, including their respective affiliations) and 2 easily legible copies without names and any information about the hospital to the Prof. Dr. S.N. Cenk Büyükünal, Editor, Cerrahpaşa PTT, PK:37, 34301 Cerrahpaşa-İstanbul, Turkey.
The author(s) transfer(s) the copyright to his/their article to Logos effective if and when the article is accepted for publication. The copyright covers the exclusive and unlimited rights to reproduce and distribute the article in any form of reproduction; it also covers translation rights for all languages and countries.
The editorial board is authorized to perform editorial corrections in the sense as laid down in the "Information for Authors" if not satisfactorily complied with by the author(s). The submitted contributions are examined anonymously by two referees. If referees are of the opinion that certain corrections are warranted, the manuscripts are returned to the authors together with suggestions made by the referees.
The Turkish Journal of Pediatric Surgery is published 3 times in a year and, subscribes in general to the "Uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals" (N Engl J Med 336:309-315, 1997).
In addition to the main topic selected for an issue, articles can also be submitted for the following sections: Original articles(Should not exceed 12 typewritten pages with references), case reports/technical innovations (Should not exceed 5 typewritten pages with references, 2 figures), letters to the editor, book reviews, surveys, congress-meeting announcements, and studies on the history of pediatric surgery.
Authors are responsible for the accuracy of their report including all statistical calculations and drug doses. When quoting specific materials, equipment and proprietary drugs, authors must state in parentheses the brief name and address of the manufacturer.
FORMAT
Manuscripts should be typed on standard A4 paper, one side of the page only, double-spaced with 2.5 cm margins on both sides of the paper. The pages should be numbered at the bottom consecutively, beginning from the cover page, including the references.
MANUSCRIPTS
Manuscripts should be organized as follows.
The Cover Page should contain
1-The title of the article
2-Initials, names and qualifications of each author with the name(s) of the(ir) institution(s)
3-A submission letter should be signed by all authors and contain following statements 1) that all authors have made a substantial contribution to the study,read and approved the final manuscript; 2) that the manuscript or portions thereof are not under consideration by another journal and have not been previously published. Sources of financial support for the work should also be acknowledged in this page.
The second page begins with title of the article, author(s), institute(s) and, a brief structured Abstract of the paper with the heading, Background/Purpose, Method, Results and Conclusion, to run no more than 250 words and to replace any summary section at the end of the article. Case reports should contain a brief unstructured abstract.
Following the abstract up to 5 Key Words are to be given for subject indexing. They should be taken from Index Medicus. At the end of this page complete address,telephone, fax and e-mail numbers of the Corresponding Author should be given. In studies that had been presented at a meeting, the details of the meeting should be given as the last sentence of the second page.
The Text (begins from the third page) should be arranged as follows: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion and References.
In case reports "Case(s)" subheading is used instead of Materials and Methods and Results.
Authors should limit the use of abbreviations.Terms that are mentioned frequently may be abbreviated.Abbreviations should be used consistently throughout the text and must be clearly defined on first use.
REFERENCES
The list of references should include only works referrred to in the text. They should be listed at the end of the paper under the heading References, supplied on a separate page, numbered in alphabetical order. The following rules of bibliography should be followed:

Reference numbers in the text should be given in parenthesis at the end of the sentence. All reference information must be accurate. Abbreviations for titles of medical periodicals should conform to those used in the latest edition of Index Medicus.
TABLES, ILLUSTRATIONS
The Editors reserve the right to omit illustrations to save space or to avoid repetition, to reduce the size, to select a cutout, and to combine illustrations which are related to each other, in one block. The number of figures and tables is to be kept to the absolute minimum.
Each table should be consecutively numbered with Roman numerals and should be supplied on a separate page together with their legend.
All figures, whether photographs, graphs or diagrams, should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. Glossy prints of line drawings and well-contrasted black-and-white photographs should be submitted in the desired final size. Legends must be brief, self-sufficient explanations in no more than 4 lines. They should be typed on a separate page,and included at the end of the manuscript. The name of the author, serial number and top when in proper position should be stated on the back. Color illustrations will not be accepted. Figures and tables should be cited in parentheses in the text (ie,Table IV, Figure 3).
Offprints: Logos will supply the corresponding author with a free copy of the relevant issue. No reprints will be available.
